Andrew Prentice

Professor of International Nutrition at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine

Andrew Prentice is Professor of International Nutrition at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He lives and works in The Gambia where he heads the Nutrition & Planetary Health group. His particular interests are in iron, infection and anemia and the effects of a mother's diet before pregnancy on the development of the very early embryo. He has over 500 peer-reviewed publications and an H-index of 127. He is a Fellow of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences and the American Society of Nutrition. In 2023 he was elected an International Member of the US National Acadamy of Sciences.
