Mrs Aminata Ndoye Secrétaire Exécutif Conseil National de Développement de la Nutrition (CNDN) - President Local Organizing Committee
It is with great pleasure that Senegal hosts the 5th FANUS conference, under the theme “Multi-sectoral approach to strengthening food systems and achieving sustainable nutrition goals in Africa”. We would like to extend a warm welcome to all the participants from all over the world, whose presence on Senegalese territory reflects their commitment to the sustainable development of nutrition.
The importance of the multi-sectoral approach to nutrition justifies the choice of this conference’s theme, and we are delighted that it is perfectly aligned with the global and regional nutrition agendas.
We have high expectations of this promising approach, and therefore we have to commit ourselves to making it the foundation, an essential prerequisite, for the development and implementation of all our nutrition policies, to guarantee optimal nutritional status for the communities we will be representing at this conference.
We also hope that this 5th conference, rich in the diversity of its participants and the exchange of expertise, will be a source of inspiration for all of us.
We would also like to express our deep gratitude to the Prime Minister of Senegal, President of the Conseil National de Développement de la Nutrition (CNDN), for his support and endorsement of the conference, as well as to all the ministerial departments and organizations that have kindly provided the Local Organizing Committee with technical and financial support to ensure the success of this major event for Africa.
